Upon graduation, he wanted to continue improvising. Fortunately, he landed here at Curious on the house team Grizzly.

Elle McKay Headshot

Elle McKay

A Portland native and notable Aquarian, Elle dabbled briefly in entertainment at a young age. After nailing the lead role of "Frosty" in her second-grade play, she auditioned unsuccessfully (on multiple occasions) as a breakdancer for the William Walker Elementary talent show. She returned triumphantly to the stage 30 years later, immersing herself in Curious Comedy Training Center classes and improv workshops around town. A former professional photographer and ice cream truck driver, Elle now empowers nonprofits across the country as a technology consultant. Her skills include a host of stupid human tricks, rhyming, avoiding PowerPoint presentations, and fixing just about anything. In addition to Trillium, she is also a member of the independent group, Bad Girrlz, and has been a guest performer with J Names.

Alexandra Disney Headshot

Alexandra Disney

After four years on the collegiate improv team "Inoperable Humor," Alex Disney moved to Portland and quickly jumped back into class at Curious Comedy Theatre. Her love of comedy stemmed from a series of close encounters - she grew up in Tina Fey's neighborhood and later landed a summer job that involved cleaning Judd Apatow's vacation home. After absorbing their comedy life force from a short distance, she set out to create her own comedic path. Years later, she is grateful to have found a second home at Curious Comedy Theatre, where she also hosts Thursday Night Throwdown bi-monthly. She is honored to share the stage with her lifelong friends and teammates on the house team Trillium.

SJ’s troupes include: Trillium, a Curious Comedy Harold House Team Mad Dash, a Curious Comedy Theater Sketch Ensemble Showdown (Tuesdays), a Curious Comedy weekly competitive improv match Campus Brochure, the most diverse indie improv team you’ve never heard of

Jennifer Brandlon Headshot

Jennifer Brandlon

Although Jennifer Brandlon grew up in a family of musicians and actors, her obsession with improv was the direct result of the encouragement and support of the Curious Comedy community. Previously she fronted the Portland alt prog rock band the BlowFrogz and sang in church choirs for dozing Methodists. In her spare time, she writes songs, dances Argentine tango and schleps her sewing machine to volunteer gigs with the PDX Repair Cafe. She also has a real job.
